Tax Office punishes mala fide employment agencies
The Hague – Last year The Tax Office has fined mala fide employment agencies for over 24 million euro. This has been announced by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.
The employment agencies especially were punished for reporting lower turnover and for incomplete wage taxes and premiums remittance. The Tax Office collaborated amongst others with Labour Inspection.
In total 1656 entrepreneurs were examined, as well employment agencies as organizations that worked with temporary employees. In the temporary agency branch sometimes entrepreneurs are guilty of exploiting employees and evading taxes. „Most organizations meet with their fiscal obligations, they have to be able to count on that excesses will be dealt with in an appropriate manner”, according to State Secretary of Finance Frans Weekers.
